Watching the waistline

Another year has finished and a new year is beginning. Now is the time when for many of us, our thoughts turn to our waistlines and the overindulgences of the festive season. Too much rich food, alcohol & a lack of exercise takes its toll. Then there are others who make a yearly resolution to shift their unhealthy weight. Watching our waistline shouldn’t just be about fitting back into our favourite dress or jeans but also about long term optimal health and well being , having the energy to enjoy life and the strength to cope with whatever stresses come our way.

Being overweight or obese puts us at risk of a number of chronic disorders including cardiovascular disease, type 2 Diabetes, Osteoarthritis and some cancers. Weight is a balancing act, but the equation is simple: If you eat more calories than you burn then you gain weight. If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you lose weight. So why is it so hard? There are many reasons why some of us struggle with our weight - poor eating habits, convenience foods, lack of exercise and busy lifestyles have all contributed to an increase in our society's obesity level.

By including a high-protein shake such as IsoWhey as part of your weight management program, combined with a healthy diet and exercise, you will be more likely to feel fuller for longer and experience less cravings. Protein is also important for building lean muscle - that's good news because having more lean muscle helps you burn more fat.
